Giulia McQuirter is an associate attorney at Vic Carmody, Jr., P.A. practicing family law and criminal defense. Giulia was born and raised in Columbus, Mississippi, and she currently resides in Jackson, Mississippi with her husband Jared and their three dogs. Giulia attended Mississippi State University for college, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
In 2023, Giulia graduated magna cum laude with her JD from Mississippi College School of Law. Giulia was one of only two students in her graduating class to earn the Certificate in Family and Juvenile Law, which solidified her passion, expertise, and commitment to this area of practice. During her time in law school, Giulia's dedication and work ethic were evident in her leadership roles. She served as an Executive Editor of the Law Review, CCTB Chair of the Moot Court Board, and Vice President of Family Law Society. Giulia has received multiple awards for her commitment to exceptional written and oral advocacy. Giulia’s Law Review article “Children are Different: Jones v. Mississippi, Juvenile Life Without Parole, and Why Youthfulness Matters in Sentencing” was selected for publication in Volume 41 of the Review. In 2023, she was inducted into The Order of Barristers, an honor given to aspiring lawyers who demonstrate exceptional skill in trial advocacy, oral advocacy, and brief writing. Giulia also received the Judge David Neil McCarty Legal Writers’ Circle Award for her talent in legal writing.
Giulia’s practice covers all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, paternity, adoption, and youth court. Giulia also practices in misdemeanor criminal defense, including DUIs, simple assault, and misdemeanor drug possession charges. She is admitted to practice in all Mississippi state courts and she accepts cases all across the State of Mississippi. In addition to her private practice, Giulia also serves as Public Defender for Madison County Youth Court and as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem.
