Joseph Seymour

Joe Seymour is an associate attorney at Vic Carmody, Jr., P.A. practicing primarily in the area of criminal defense. Joe was born in Germany to a military family and was raised all over the world. His family is originally from the Hattiesburg, Mississippi area. Joe, his wife, and his children currently reside in Brandon, Mississippi.

After high school, Joe enlisted in the United States Army as a Psychological Operations Sergeant. While in the army, Joe deployed twice to Kenya in 2009 and 2011 to combat the growing piracy industry off the coast of Somalia.

After being honorably discharged from the army, Joe received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in 2014.

Following his time in the military, Joe worked in manufacturing for four years. After his stint in manufacturing, Joe worked as the Director of Operations for a local investment company where he oversaw the daily operations of 10+ hotels.

In 2023, Joe graduated with his JD from Mississippi College School of Law. Although law school is typically three years, Joe took an aggressive approach to finishing early and was able to finish in two and a half years. During law school, Joe worked at different firms to gain experience in criminal law, but also civil litigation, particularly in construction law. Joe also completed an externship with a local county prosecutor’s office while being sworn into limited practice. This experience gives Joe an understanding as to how the other side operates and ways to help his criminal defense clients.

Joe’s practice covers all areas of criminal law, including misdemeanor and felony offenses. He is admitted to practice in all Mississippi state courts. Joe approaches every case with a complete focus on client expectations, ensuring that his clients receive the best possible legal representation.
